FAQ

Common Questions

The B.Sc. in Animation & VFX focuses on film and broadcast production — storytelling, compositing, VFX for cinema. Game Art is entirely focused on the real-time pipeline: game engines (Unreal/Unity), game-ready asset optimisation, level design, and interactive storytelling. If you want to make games rather than films, Game Art is the right choice.
No. The B.Sc. in Game Art is entirely focused on art and asset creation, not game programming. You will work inside Unreal Engine and Unity as an artist — placing assets, designing levels, lighting scenes — but the programme does not require or teach coding. Artists and programmers collaborate in studios, and this course trains you for the art side.
Yes. Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) is a UGC-recognised deemed university. The B.Sc. in Game Art degree is equivalent to any other bachelor’s degree and is valid for government job applications, higher education (M.Sc., MBA), and visa applications. It carries the same legal standing as degrees from any other recognised university.
India’s gaming industry is growing at 28% annually, with major global studios (Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar) running India-based art teams. Domestic companies like Nazara, Newgen Gaming, and nCore are hiring aggressively. Mobile gaming, AR/VR, and the metaverse are creating thousands of new artist positions. Skilled Game Art graduates have strong placement prospects both in India and abroad.
Both. The course is deliberately portfolio-first. Each semester generates deliverables you keep — concept sheets, 3D assets, environment builds, AR demos, and a full Capstone Project in Semester 6. By the time you graduate, you have a professional portfolio that speaks louder than the degree itself in most studio hiring processes.
As per the National Education Policy (2020), the government may extend degree programmes to 4 years. Students currently enrolled follow the existing 3-year structure. If and when NEP norms are applied, the curriculum and fee structure will be updated accordingly — and students will be notified well in advance with full clarity on the pathway.
