FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a 30-month, 1185-hour master-level programme that covers the complete post-production VFX pipeline — from foundational rotoscoping and paint work through to advanced 3D matchmoving and compositing. It is designed for students who want to work in VFX post-production roles at film, OTT, and advertising studios. Open to 10th/12th pass students with no prior experience required.
Rotoscoping (Roto) is the process of drawing frame-by-frame masks around elements in footage to isolate them. Paint is the art of removing unwanted elements from frames — wires, rigs, crew, blemishes. Matchmoving tracks the movement of a camera in live footage so 3D elements can be seamlessly integrated. Compositing brings all these elements together — layering CG, live footage, and visual effects into a single photorealistic final shot. This programme teaches all four disciplines as a connected pipeline.
Yes. Nuke — the industry-standard compositing software used on virtually every major film and series — is covered in the Master + Portfolio Development phase. You will also work with After Effects, Mocha, PFTrack, Silhouette, DaVinci Resolve, 3D Equalizer, Photoshop, and Rotomation across the full programme.
The Foundation phase covers ChatGPT, Google Gemini AI, Leonardo AI, Midjourney, and ComfyUI for VFX as concept and reference tools. The Intermediate phase integrates Luma AI for VFX — a specialised AI tool for generating and enhancing VFX footage — making this the only MPAV programme with Luma AI in its curriculum.
Graduates are prepared for roles as Roto Artist, Paint Artist, 3D Tracking/Matchmoving Artist, Rotomation Artist, and Compositor. These roles are required on every major film, OTT series, and advertising production that involves visual effects — making graduates consistently employable across studios in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and internationally.
You receive the Frameboxx Certificate of Completion for MPAV: Roto, Paint, Matchmove & Compositing, a MESC-aligned industry certificate (MES/Q0506, Q2501, Q3501, Q3504, Q3505), and individual software proficiency certificates for Nuke, DaVinci Resolve, Silhouette, and more.
